• ISTT Resident Company Develops Technology to Independently Manufacture Solar Collectors for Solar Water Heaters

  • May 18, 2019

Researchers at Farasoo Sepehr Aria Co., a resident company at Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) have managed to develop the technology needed to produce solar water heaters in Isfahan. This accomplishment is most pertinent at this time with the importance of reducing greenhouse gases and the generation of clean energy increasing in the world.

Farasoo Sepehr Aria has also been able to manufacture portable solar power and heat radiation systems.

The use of solar powered water heaters can significantly reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and thus its manufacturing technology has developed and changed immensely during the past twenty years and especially for its solar collectors.

Solar collectors work as the beating heart of any solar water heater by storing the heat absorbed, ergo it is the main component to building water heaters. The technicians at Farasoo have managed to successfully localize the production of solar collectors in Iran.

Solar power can be harnessed in both forms of heat, as in solar water heaters, and electricity, as in solar cells. Solar water heaters work by absorbing solar energy and radiating it on to solar collectors. Although the thermal efficiency of solar water heaters varies by season and the geographic location of cities, they are still the most economic method for heating consumption water in buildings.

By considering the fact that Iran is positioned between circuits 25 to 40 degrees north latitude, an area that has the highest rankings in the world in terms of solar energy potential, the experts at Farasoo Sepehr decided to dedicate their time and attention to systems that use this free energy source, the sun.

In Iran the average amount of solar radiation is around 4.5 to 5.5 kilowatts per hour during the day. This amount is more than the global average and with the announcement of the existence of more than 280 sunny days annually in Iran; it demonstrates the great potential that this geographic area has for the use of solar power.

Farasoo Sepehr Aria co. started its activities at ISTT in 2013. It has been active in the specialized fields of mechanics, power and control, developed materials and energies and has to date manufactured many products in relation to solar electricity and wind power. Farasoo Sepehr Aria co. has also been active in creating awareness about energy consumption.
